GTA 6 has reportedly leaked again, with new gameplay footage and what appears to be a complete map of Leonida surfacing online just days before Rockstar Games is scheduled to show the game in an official extended look.
The latest leak has quickly become one of the biggest Grand Theft Auto VI leaks since the massive 2022 incident. This time, the material reportedly includes two gameplay clips, images claiming to show the game's full map, and details about several gameplay systems that Rockstar has not officially discussed yet.
The timing is particularly interesting. Rockstar has already announced that Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will premiere on Netflix and YouTube on August 27, giving fans their biggest official look at the game yet. GTA 6 itself is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
However, there is an important caveat: Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have not publicly confirmed that every leaked asset is authentic. Much of the information currently circulating should therefore be treated as alleged until Rockstar officially confirms it.
What Has Leaked From GTA 6?
The latest wave of material reportedly appeared online on August 18 through a group calling itself Cyberleek.
Among the most widely circulated material are two short gameplay clips. One reportedly shows Jason Duval playing basketball, while another shows him driving before getting into a confrontation with an NPC. Reports also describe footage showing combat and other gameplay systems.
More significantly, the leak includes images that are being presented as the full GTA 6 map. The alleged map appears to show Leonida in considerably more detail than anything Rockstar has officially released. It reportedly contains five counties and several locations that have either been teased previously or had not been publicly revealed before.
GTA 6 Leak Reportedly Reveals New Gameplay Mechanics
The leaked footage has sparked discussion about gameplay systems that could make GTA 6 considerably deeper than previous entries in the series.
One of the most talked-about details is an apparent six-star Wanted Level. GTA 5 famously capped its Wanted Level at five stars, making the possibility of a sixth level particularly interesting to longtime fans.
The leaked material has also reportedly shown a Focus stat, a stamina system and other RPG-style attributes. Another reported feature is vehicle fuel management — some footage suggests that vehicles may eventually need to be refuelled, adding another layer of realism to the open world.
However, because the leaked footage appears to come from an older development build, it would be premature to assume these systems will definitely appear in the final game.
The Alleged Full Leonida Map
For many fans, the alleged full Leonida map is more significant than the gameplay clips. Rockstar has spent years keeping GTA 6's world relatively mysterious. We know the game takes place in Leonida, Rockstar's fictional interpretation of Florida, with Vice City serving as the centrepiece.
Reports indicate that the map contains five counties and a number of locations spread throughout Leonida. If accurate, it would reinforce the idea that GTA 6 is not simply a larger version of Vice City — instead, Rockstar appears to be building an entire state around the city.
Who Is Behind the Leak?
A group calling itself Cyberleek has claimed responsibility. The group has reportedly framed the release as a protest against aspects of the modern games industry, including digital pre-orders, limited physical releases, and concerns about locked downloadable content.
Rockstar's Response
Although Rockstar has not released a detailed public statement confirming the latest leak, reports indicate that DMCA copyright takedown notices have already been used against copies of the leaked material. The aggressive attempts to remove copies have increased speculation that at least some of the material is genuine — similar to Rockstar's response to the enormous GTA 6 leak in September 2022.
The August 27 Reveal Is More Important Than Ever
Rockstar announced that GTA 6: An Extended Look will premiere on August 27 at 3 p.m. ET on Netflix and YouTube. The game remains scheduled for November 19, 2026.
Fans will inevitably compare the official footage with the leaked material. If Rockstar shows mechanics or locations that appeared in the leaks, it could provide indirect confirmation that portions of the material were authentic.
The safest approach for now is to treat the leaked features as possible GTA 6 mechanics rather than confirmed features. What is certain is that GTA 6 has once again managed to dominate the gaming conversation without Rockstar even releasing a new trailer.
Update: This article will be updated as Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive officially respond to the latest GTA 6 leak.
