One Piece Chapter 1191 is absolutely loaded.
Imu has gone into another terrifying form, Scopper Gaban has lost an arm and is still refusing to back down, Hajrudin finally gets his legendary giant moment against the monster standing in front of him, and then Prince Loki shows up.
And Oda saves the best part for the last few pages:
Luffy, Loki and Hajrudin attack Imu together.
Yeah. Elbaf has officially gone completely off the rails.
The chapter is titled “There's Still Loki”, which sounded mysterious when the title first dropped. After reading the chapter, though, it feels almost like Oda was giving us fair warning about the absolute chaos coming our way.
(Major spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1191 below.)
Imu's New Form Is Genuinely Horrifying
The fight with Gaban gets even uglier right at the start of the chapter. Gaban has already lost one of his arms, but somehow he's still talking to Imu like this is just a regular pirate brawl. It definitely isn't.
Imu transforms again. The new form is considerably more monstrous — with horns, huge pitch-black arms, and a much more demonic appearance. Imu's sheer presence alone is enough to overwhelm everyone around them.
We still don't really know what Imu actually is. We've seen the silhouette, the strange ancient powers, the demonic transformations, and what happened to Saturn. But every time Oda gives us another piece of the puzzle, the picture somehow becomes even weirder. Calling Imu simply “the strongest character” almost misses the point — there is something fundamentally abnormal about this being.
Imu Remembers Gaban from God Valley
Then Oda drops a massive lore bomb: Imu recognizes Gaban. Not just as one of Roger's old crewmates, but as the kid from God Valley.
That is a crazy detail when you think about it. Gaban was one of the three core pillars of Roger's crew alongside Roger and Rayleigh. Chapter 1191 gives us another reason to believe that his past is tied much more closely to the biggest events of the old era than we've ever been shown.
Imu even implies that Gaban should have been killed alongside Rocks at God Valley if they had known what he would eventually become. That line alone is enough to make any One Piece fan crave an entire Gaban flashback.
Gaban Lost an Arm and Still Isn't Scared
The exchange between Gaban and Imu is one of the absolute best parts of the chapter. Imu acknowledges that Gaban managed to escape with only one arm lost, and Gaban shoots back saying Imu shouldn't be celebrating yet.
The man has literally just lost an arm and is still throwing attitude at the hidden ruler of the entire world. Gaban isn't here just for a nostalgic cameo — he is actively standing between Luffy and Imu, buying Luffy precious time to recover.
Hajrudin Finally Steps Up
This is where Hajrudin gets an incredible warrior moment. As Imu advances toward Luffy and Gaban, Hajrudin steps straight into the line of fire and punches Imu. Just like that.
Hajrudin knows he is completely outmatched. He has already seen Gaban get destroyed and can feel Imu's overwhelming presence, yet he refuses to run away. And then comes the line that explains the chapter title: “There's still Loki.”
Loki Finally Arrives on the Battlefield
Loki is finally here. Oda has been building up this character for years, and now he is finally standing on the same battlefield as Imu. He isn't arriving as a side character — he's arriving when Elbaf desperately needs someone with god-tier strength to stand beside Luffy.
Meanwhile, Luffy is doing what he does best: recovering his Gear 5 stamina by stuffing himself with food. And just like that, the Straw Hat captain is back on his feet.
Luffy, Loki & Hajrudin vs Imu: Gokoku Sovereignty!
The final pages deliver one of the most iconic double spreads in modern One Piece history. Luffy in Gear 5, Prince Loki with the terrifying strength of Elbaf, and Hajrudin launch an enormous combined triple-attack at Imu called Gokoku Sovereignty, sending Imu flying through the battlefield!
And right after that insane panel, Oda cuts the chapter with Break Next Week. We don't get to see the aftermath yet, but one thing is certain: Luffy, Loki, and Hajrudin may have just proven to the world that even Imu can bleed.
