PRANA is an original Indian indie comic series that blends the visual language of manga with the rich spiritual and mythological traditions of South Asian storytelling. Everything changes with a single, unexpected encounter. A mysterious girl named Avisa appears in Dattu's life under circumstances that defy easy explanation. She is not quite what she appears to be — there is something about her that exists slightly outside the normal world, a quality that Dattu can sense but cannot yet name or understand.

This first chapter is masterfully paced as an introduction. It takes its time establishing Dattu's world, his relationships, and his personality before pulling the rug out from under him. By the end of Chapter 1, everything Dattu thought he knew about his life — and perhaps about the nature of reality itself — is suddenly in question.
