Should she wish for unlimited magic power? The grandest potion laboratory in the realm? Or perhaps a crown to rival the high witches of Komona? As Pepper considers her choices, her loyal cat Carrot watches with mounting anxiety, knowing from bitter experience that magic rarely grants wishes without a twist.

David Revoy delivers a story that is both funny and deeply touching. The resolution of Pepper's wish reveals her true character — reminding readers that what we think we want is often far less valuable than what we already have in the friends standing right beside us.
